How to Create Modifiers
Modifiers let customers customize products — sizes, add-ons, or special instructions. You manage them in Store → Menu → Modifiers.
Where to find it: Store → Menu → Modifiers (tab at the top of the Menu page). You’ll see modifier groups on the left, options in the center, and product assignment on the right.
How to Create a Modifier Group
Section titled “How to Create a Modifier Group”- Go to Store → Menu
- Open the Modifiers tab
- Click Create Group or Add modifier group
- Enter the group name (e.g. “Size”, “Extras”, “Special instructions”)
- Choose the modifier type (Variant, Addon, or Instruction)
- Set Required, Min selection, and Max selection as needed
- Save
Modifier Types
Section titled “Modifier Types”Choose the type that fits how customers should select options:

How to Add Modifier Options
Section titled “How to Add Modifier Options”After creating a group:
- Click the modifier group in the list
- In the Modifier options panel, click Add items or Create item
- Add options from:
- Modifiers — Custom modifier items (e.g. “Small”, “Large”, “Extra cheese”)
- Products — Your regular menu products (only products with Can be sold alone = On)
- For each option, set Title, Price (or 0 for free), and optionally description/image
- Drag to reorder — the order is the order customers see
Modifier Group Settings

Modifier Options (Items)
Section titled “Modifier Options (Items)”Each option can have:
- Title — What customers see
- Price — Added to the product when selected (or 0 for free)
- Description — Optional
- Image — Optional — click the image area to open the Media Gallery (Your Gallery or Menuella Stock)
- Price overrides — Different price for specific products or sizes
Example: Size Modifier
Section titled “Example: Size Modifier”- Create group “Size”, type Variant, Required = On, Min = 1, Max = 1
- Add options: Small (€0), Medium (+€0.50), Large (+€1.00)
- Assign to products (see How to assign modifiers to products)
- When customers order, they see Size: Small | Medium | Large and must pick one
Example: Addon Modifier
Section titled “Example: Addon Modifier”- Create group “Extras”, type Addon, Required = Off, Min = 0, Max = 5
- Add options: Extra cheese (+€1.50), Extra sauce (+€0.50)
- Assign to products
- When customers order, they can optionally add extras
Use Variant for sizes or required choices (e.g. Small/Medium/Large). Use Addon for optional extras (e.g. extra cheese, extra shot). Use Instruction for free-form requests (e.g. “No ice”, “Well done”). Keep option names short — they appear in the ordering flow. Set min/max selection so customers can’t over-select (e.g. max 3 addons).
